Matt has been working professionally as a full-time liturgical music director for 28 years, in addition to 12 years prior as part-time

For 28 years made has owned and operated Gray Sky Music, a music production facility and recording studio

As Director of Music, Matt directly controls the sound system for all liturgies and supervises the installation and maintenance for the sound system

Matt is currently serving as the chair of a parish renovation committee, in addition to acting as a consultant to the architect and the sound contractor for a major $3.8 million renovation project

With 40 years of experience in live music performance, Matt has gained essential experience with sound reinforcement, including load in, set up and tear down of sound equipment

As a lifelong musician, Matt has extensive leadership knowledge for various applications: organ, cantors, choirs, small ensembles, bands, and orchestral instrumentation

Matt's extensive knowledge of Catholic liturgy; including not only the Catholic Mass, but all liturgical celebrations including the sacraments, liturgy of the hours, Eucharistic adoration/holy hour, etc.

He is familiar with pertinent liturgical documents – The Roman Missal, Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, etc.

Matt has training in liturgical design under the leadership of Br. Martin Erspamer, OSB of St. Meinrad Archabbey, a nationally recognized liturgical design consultant - including study of the liturgical resources, “Built of Living Stones,” “Art and Environment in Catholic Worship,” and “God’s House is Our House”
